Lighting: 12 Volt system and conform to DOT standards; taillights shall be a sealed system, shock mounted to frame with grommets.  Break and turn lights shall be located at the rear sides of the infeed chute and flush mounted within a welded steel housing for protection.  All wiring shall be protected within a non-corrosive abrasion resistant, shielded loom.

Paint: All exposed areas shall be covered with industrial strength primer and then shall be painted with industrial strength, lead free, urethane paint for enhanced rust protection.  Standard color shall be industrial yellow, DuPont Imron

Chipper Shaft: [ASTM A311] 10cm diameter solid steel and be fully machined to exact tolerances.

Feed Plate Anvil: Steel construction, custom fitted, adjustable with 4 usable edges.

Chipper Cutting Drum: Tapered drum with 91cm outside diameter tapered to 60cm center diameter with a total cutting width of 71cm; tapered drum shall be built from inside out, with a double welded skeletal frame that includes a 2.5cm thick, 60cm diameter steel disc to support inside of knife pocket for added strength and durability; outside knife pocket shall be supported with 1.9cm thick disc shaped end cap that also creates added inertia for smooth chipping: tapered cutting drum shall be wrapped with molded 0.95cm thick steel and double welded adding extra strength and inertia during chipping; shall contain 20 replaceable fan blades.

Chipper knives: 4 knife pockets; each with one (1) 19cm x 12.7cm x 1.6cm, A8 chipper steel

Chipper Housing: 1.6cm plate steel welded to a 0.95cm plate steel bellyband that conforms to the shape of the tapered drum.

Discharge: Hydraulic operated with directional chip deflector

Capacity: Minimum chipper throat opening 56cm high by 86cm wide with a total cutting width of 71cm; shall have a minimum of 0.48 sq. meter feed opening area.

Feed Rate: 33m per minute unless otherwise specified.

Hydraulic Tank: Minimum of 510 liter capacity with a magnetic drain plug and mesh strainer at the opening; side mounted sight gauge to easily monitor fluid level.

Hydraulic Hose: All high pressure hydraulic hoses shall be minimum 175kg/sq.cm  industrial grade construction with wear and spray guards in applicable areas; shall have female JIC 37° flare fittings.

Filtration System: 10 micron, spin-on, return line filter.

Feed System: Hydraulic feed system shall consist of two (2) horizontally mounted 82cm long feed wheels with sharpened carbon steel blades for superior gripping & wrap prevention as material is pulled into the chipping drum; top feed wheel shall be  65cm diameter with 7.5cm diameter shaft; bottom feed wheel shall be 22cm diameter with 7.5cm diameter shaft; top feed wheel shall be driven with two(2) 192 cubic cm hydraulic motors; bottom feed wheel shall be driven with one(1) 193 cubic cm hydraulic motor; top feed shall have 2 adjustable spring to insure adequate down pressure: top feed wheel shall also have 2 hydraulic cylinders to allow for added down pressure to enhance pulling capability & breaking down crotches.

In addition, there shall be two (2) vertical, stationary, hydraulic powered feed wheels positioned in front of and to the side of the horizontal feed wheels to aid in gathering limbs and snapping crotches as they guide material into the chipper.  Both shall be 81cm long x 37cm diameter with sharpened carbon steel blades and independently hydraulically driven.

In-feed: Constructed of heavy duty plate steel, reinforced with gussets and braces.  Shall be 305cm long x 236cm wide 3 strands of WD/102 drag type conveyor chain with wing attachments and powered with two (2) 193 cubic cm hydraulic motors.

Drum Bearings: Chipper bearings shall be 10cm spherical, high speed; 8 bolt ISAF pillow block housing rated at: dynamic 18,820kg; radial 2,260kg with 10,000 hour service life.

Chipper Drive: Drive belt shall be two (2) 10 groove 5V sheaves coupled with two (2) 5 banded belts.

Controls: All controls shall be located curbside for operator safety during engine start-up and PTO engagement.  Actual machine operation shall be by radio remote control only.

Shields: All shields shall be constructed of 12 gauge steel and positioned to form a complete housing covering all moving parts including drive belts and chipper housing to insure operator safety, protect machine from fallen material, suppress dust, and dampen noise; shield shall be securely fastened to the machine and totally bolted together using grade 8 bolts.
